TAMIL NADU HOUSING BOARD - SALEM HOUSING UNIT

The Salem housing unit of Tamil Nadu Housing Board was formed in the Year 1972 with a view to fulfill the Housing demand of public by constructing Houses and Development plots for various sections of Society in and around Salem Town and Taluk Head Quarters namely Mettur, Edappadi, Attur, Sankari and Yercaud.

The Houses and developed plots are allotted to the public by the drawl of lot in the first instance and then the houses are disposed under First cum First Served Basis.  The loan is also arranged for the houses allotted to the public from the reputed financial institution like HUDCONIVAS, HDFC, ICICI, Diwan Housing, NATIONALISED BANKS etc.

After remitting the entire payment and after getting the court verdict on EC in respect of the land acquired the sale deeds for Houses/Plots are issued to the allot tees concerned.  Special efforts are taken in finalising the cost of Houses and Plots.  If representations from the allot tees/residential associations of the colonies are received, the same is duly considered and the allot tees are made convinced.

Among the houses constructed and the plots developed so far by Tamil Nadu Housing Board in Salem District, the following units are readily available for allotment of the reduced cost.

Apart from the above the Board is maintaining 1048 flats under TNGRH Scheme for the benefit of Tamil Nadu Government Servants.
